How to link characters

I have multiple characters that I would like to link.

Example:

My original main was a Human Paladin, Scatmanicus. In 2009, Blizzard forced a name change so I changed it to Papapally. In Aug 2010, I changed it to Zalian.

How can I link these so it shows 'first time seen' on Zalian as 2005.

Currently the only thing you can do is 'Claim' all three characters and show them as having transferred to the latest character.

That's a pity as it would be nice to view a current character and have a summary of it's entire history. This would really only need a new field to hold an array of names and a new input form to enter the name of your other 'claimed' character to link. This would be a very nice enhancement.

Also, I'm disappointed that you can't change your username as I had used my characters username and now that has changed. I probably should have used my real name or an alias.
