My Uploads are Processed E
My uploads from a long time ago all went through without a hitch from what I remember but I recently got back into doing the census as I noticed my realm info was way off, but they just sit at processed = E and I have no idea what that means, I am uploading the saved variable LUA and am making sure I completely log out of wow before I do so.
I am sorry to tell you this, but for some reason those uploads from April have failed. The E status was added a fairly long time ago by Rollie to indicate certain types of processing failures. I believe I played a minor role in that decision, though only Rollie would know for sure.
If you, as I hope, intend to submit more, I suggest you try doing so with a completely fresh .lua file, in other words transfer or delete the old one and try again after some censuses. Also, since you were away a LONG time, check that you are using the latest version, 5.0.2, submitting the right .lua of the two existing, etc.
Rollie has been very absent for a long time, but if you run into more Es, maybe I, Balgair or someone else can figure out some other suggestions to try to help you. In any case, welcome back!

*scratches head* Hmmm...
Try another submission... but before submitting, check and write down the following pieces of info: file size, dates created, accessed and last modified... and especially if you are censusing only one faction, before exiting game, the number of characters that are supposed to be in the .lua.
Also, when the submission finishes, copy the success message. You can edit your IP out, but leave other info intact.
I'll take a look at those and maybe I can figure something out...

We'll see how this turns out... at a quick glance, I already see a few things I like. Just one check at the moment. This is a completely new .lua again, judging by the created, accessed, last modified?
Quite coincidentally a made a submission about half an hour before you and I should be able to make another before current 8 hour period expires, which will possibly allow me some extra insight into the matter.
EDIT: 2nd submission for today is in... now we'll have to wait for a few hours.
EDIT 2: Sigh... all three submissions have processed... both of mine worked, your's did not.
*scratches head again* Very, very strange. I am trying to think of other things to try... Can you try submitting through a different browser? Maybe copying the .lua to another place (folder, if available even a different hard drive) before submitting it? *scratch, scratch* Looking inside the .lua file for obvious errors?
I am feeling that I am not being very helpful, sorry.

Did you delete all of the censusPlus files before you tried again?giggleflat wrote:Well after deleting both the lua and the lua.old and redownlading 5.0.2 again I tried to take another census, Still ran into an E, not sure where to go from here.
The Addon directory [censusplus]...
The account wide ...\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\%account%\SavedVariables\CensusPlus.lua <---- the actual file that is uploaded
the Character level ...\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\%account%\%character%\CensusPlus.lua <--- the characters copy of the configuration file. (each character you have up when running census will have a copy)
clean all those out.. and unzip a new copy of Census plus into your addon directory tree. and try again.
Something you have has gotten corrupted. or something on Rollie's database has gone south for your giggleflat account.
If you still get an E process result after a complete refresh of CensusPlus on your system, create a new account here, gather some more census data and try an upload using the new account. To be honest I don't believe it to be a database problem here on the server. Since your last good update was the day before Wow 2.4.2 patch was released. A lot has changed since then, including 12 updates for CensusPlus.

Alright so I just submitted a bunch of them, all roughly the same. Submitted in this order, C: from firefox. D: From firefox - no wow addons, C: from Chrome, D: from Chrome - no wow addons
All of which are from a completely fresh install of 5.0.2, all LUAs deleted, folder deleted before new was unzipped

One minor problem... You need to allow at least 15 minutes between each submission or the upload processing checks will fail the submissions on the assumption that they are duplicates.
"C: from firefox. D: From firefox - no wow addons", I'm assuming that you mean,
1- Firefox with data in normal directory, 2- Firefox with data having been copied to alternate Drive:/directory.. and then again with Chrome.
Since you are getting a reasonable response from the server at upload time... I don't think it is a problem with browers.
Lets try a little more dramatic change.
Exit Wow... go into the directory tree and rename Wow's WTF directory to something else.. maybe GRRR
Then do the same with Wow's Interface directory.. rename as OLDInterface
Then you can (your option delete the Cache directory and all of its files) all changed directories and the deleted Cache files will get rebuilt by Blizzard when you start Wow again..
as per http://us.battle.net/support/en/article ... game-files
Start Wow.. log into your account and enter into one of your characters.. then log out and shutdown Wow.
Blizzard will have recreated the /WTF/... sub-tree
and the /Interface/... sub-tree
Unzip the CensusPlus addon into the addon folder.. and then using Notepad or other pure text editor.. edit the first line in the CensusPlus.toc file
from
## Interface: 40000
to
## Interface: 40300
save the changes and
start Wow... tell the game you want to use the CensusPlus addon
login and run a census on your server
log out of your character.... (you don't have to actually exit the game... as exiting the character updates and closes the addon datafiles.) but exiting isn't bad either.
then do the normal process you have been doing to upload the new census data.
After that.. if you want you can (having exited wow game) go back and rename the current WTF directory to something like TESTING.. and the GRRR back to WTF , then rename the current Interface to TestInterface and the OLDInterface back to Interface. Then you can play Wow with all your normal settings while we wait to see if the upload processes cleanly.

*scratches head once again*
Ummm... After your last successful submissions in 2008, have any of the following changed: Your harddrive, your modem, your home location, your internet service provider? Also, is some part of your local network wireless and if yes, do you have a chance of trying to be hardwired to the net during submission?
I am asking those things, because we already know the following:
Warcraftrealms is working, because most people don't have processing problems and successful submissions happen both right before and soon after yours.
All data from you is failing, despite clean installs and using two different accounts.

I sent PM to giggleflat so he can send me a copy of the odd files.. which may or not be bad.
My final thought of what could be wrong is that one of the realms he is running census on is corrupted in the database... but I expect that Rollie has validation code to prevent that.. so I consider that a very low probability.
beyond that..

Alright... one additional idea to try would be sending him a small file to submit that you have already successfully submitted... because 0 0 Y would be an improvement over his 0 0 E... and also, if your successful submission turned into E type, then we could deduce that the problem is either on his harddrive or more likely, somewhere along his internet connection. Because I am fairly sure that the physical harddrive is ok. If it weren't, he would be suffering from errors in other programs and files as well...
But, so far that is just my theory... :/ Maybe you can figure out something from his file... maybe even try submitting it as well, to see whether it produces 0 0 Y, 0 0 E or possibly even some actual data...
I need some sleep, so I'll check back later.

got the files.. the per character didn't have anything odd.. not that I expected it to..
the collected census data file.. at first glance appears to be ok
I submitted the file as is under my account and also got the E code. I had hoped and expected to get a 0 0 Y result.
I'm going to look at and think about the collected data.. do see if I can find anything odd.
In the mean time.. I would suggest that you purge or delete the savedvariables copy of the censusplus.lua and then
log into Wow and go to a different server.. create a character and run a census.. then submit that and also send a copy of the file to me.
Looking at the server submissions page we can see that someone at least is getting valid census runs for Dragonmaw Horde, so it isn't a corrupted master datafile there at the website. again not that I would have expected that either.

Just a follow up.. (haven't seen you back on site)
I've tried various combinations on your file and couldn't get the server to process with anything but E. (was trying to get 0 0 Y)
I've compared with multiple peoples files and just can't see anything that is different enough to raise an error flag with me, so all I can say is that there is something there that Rollie's final verification pass is failing as valid.
Sorry I couldn't help more
Maybe Rollie will look at his logs and spot what is going on there.
