Mercenary mode questions

Here is a list of comments about Mercenary Mode, please let me know if any are wholly or partially incorrect.. and what is a correct statement.

1: Mercenary Mode only happens if there is a queue time delay for Ashran or one of the unrated battlegrounds.
2: Each faction has a Ashran and a Battlegrounds recuiter near the opposite factions home base in Ashran.
3: Mercenary Mode is undetectable by other players.
4: Attempts to leave Ashran via your real disguised faction city will port you to your real faction city.
Q: Does your disguise go away on entering the city?
5: Leaving Ashran by swimming or mount to mainland Draenor is allowed.
Q: When does the disguise drop?

6: When you talk to the recruiters you get the "Mercenary Contract" buff, but the disguise doesn't happen until entering the PVP zone/battleground.
Q: What happens to your disguise when the 30 minute buff drops? if you are in Ashran pvp... or active in Battleground?
Q: What happens to your disguise if you are summoned, hearth, or otherwise leave these zones?

I've never used it so can't answer your questions, but if it's in regard to considering bringing back the mouseover checks (outside BGs, given mercenary mode), don't forget costumes also change the tooltip display for players to the appropriate race.

Gnome hunter, tauren rogue, Broken (!) warrior, I've seem all of those via costumes, and while obviously those would get filtered as impossible, the possible combos are the ones that are the problem. Mouseover scanning is basically dead for Censusplus now, since it can never be trusted (unless you can check the buffs to make sure that none of a looooong list of costume effects are active....).

It may not be possible to do non-/who census anymore...
but it needs to be investigated.

Unless there's some way to negate costumes (which are used LOTS now there's so many available in the toybox), then it's not possible
